Chris Breen is a Senior Lecturer in the College of Social Science with the University of Lincoln. He served with the RAMC and started his Nursing career in 1993. He is a Registered Nurse (Adult), initially working in emergency medical admissions and accident and emergency. After becoming a Paramedic in 2007 he worked both as a front line clinician and as a clinical tutor with the ambulance service Since 2012 he has worked as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, becoming a band 8a Senior ACP in 2019. Working predominantly in urgent care settings he is a generalist with an interest in Emergency care, Minor Illness and Minor Injury management with additional qualifications in Trauma and Remote Medicine. He has had a long term interest in emergency medicine and is the Medical Advisor for a Preparedness group and runs courses in Survival Medicine. Prior to working with the university he was employed as a clinical educator. Chris maintains his advanced clinical skills including prescribing and radiographic image interpretation with local NHS partners. He offers a range of courses covering First aid at work, Emergency First Aid, Wilderness Medicine, Expedition Medic, Forestry and Forest School First Aid, Sports Medic, Bushcraft, Education and Training, Health and Safety, Fire awareness and Fire Marshal. He also publishes books on Wilderness Medicine, Patient Assessment, CRBNe and First Aid for Police officers. Chris is a keen adventurer and has recently trekked in the Andes with an expedition to Finland coming up soon!
